HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team won their first home game of the season in an 89-62 victory over Point on Tuesday evening in front of a raucous crowd in Spragins Hall.
The Chargers are now 2-1 as the Skyhawks fell to 0-5 on the year. The game was highly contested with a 40-36 score at the end of the first half as Point shot 40 percent from behind the arc as opposed to UAH shooting just 27.27 percent from three in the period.Â

Following the half, UAH had stretched their lead to 10 by the 17:24 mark of the second half and were off to the races, outscoring the Skyhawks 46-26 in the half.Â
Luke Burnett made four three pointers in Tuesday night's game, breaking the all-time record for career three pointers made in UAH history as the senior now sits at 355 all-time. Burnett led the Chargers in points with 18 as he went 5-11 from the field, 4-8 from three, and 4-4 from the free throw line.Â
Tommy Murr added 15 points in 23 minutes, going 5-7 from the field and 5-5 from the charity stripe as he dished out six assists to lead the Blue & White in the category.
Daniel Saylor added two blocks to lead the Charger defense, while
Griffin Cooper, Burnett, and
Trey Hamilton each recorded one block. Saylor also tallied two steals on the night.Â
The Chargers outpaced the Skyhawks in fastbreak points 13-2 and took advantage of Point's turnovers, scoring 12 points off of turnovers.Â
UAH returns to action on November 22-23 when they travel to Lebanon, Ill. to partake in the McKendree DII Classic Presented by State Farm against McKendree and UMSL.Â
