Volleyball Victorious on Senior Day Against AUM

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team won a Senior Day sweep with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-17) victory over Auburn Montgomery on Saturday afternoon in Spragins Hall.

The Chargers improved to 25-5 (16-4 GSC) with the win, while AUM fell to 10-19 (7-13 GSC). UAH's 25 wins is their highest win total in a single-season since the 2001 season when they won 28 matches.

UAH had 10 blocks in the match, which marked their 13th time this season surpassing double-digits in the category. They hit .200 as a team and had 36 kills with nine service aces.

Autumn Mayes had a team-high nine kills as eight different Chargers recorded three or more kills in the match. Kayla Ward led the way in aces as she notched four, while Mayes had three.

Savannah Rutledge led the way in assists with 16 as Ashleigh Murr had seven and Kelsey Gasaway had six.

Mayes had 12 digs to top the Chargers in the category, while Rutledge had eight and Tatiana Bonilla had seven.

Mary Grace Bundrant had a dominant day at the net on the defensive end as she totaled seven blocks to lead the Blue & White.

UAH will be the second seed in the GSC Volleyball Championship next weekend as they await the winner of a match between the No. 3 seed and the winner of a No. 6/No. 7 matchup.
