HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team started its 2024-25 home schedule with a 71-59 victory over visiting Tuskegee on Sunday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in nonconference action. UAH improves to 2-1, while TU slides to 1-1.

UAH's offense featured four players with 10 points or more in the victory, guided by freshman
Mia Hollingsworth with a team-high 15 points as she went 5-for-6 on three-pointers in the contest across 32 minutes on the floor

Lili Wilken posted a strong all-around performance, generating 10 points to go along with nine rebounds and a team-high four assists. Wilken played a roster-leading 36 minutes on Sunday as well.

Haley Nichols posted her first double-double on the season, scoring 11 points and pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds.
Bella White was also a major contributor on the boards for UAH, matching Nichols with 10 rebounds in the win.

Overall in the contest, UAH shot 45.5 percent (25-55) from the field and 30.8 percent (8-26) on three-pointers. The Chargers outpaced the Golden Tigers in rebounds (44-31) and bench points (30-13) on Sunday.

This is the second time in the last three seasons UAH has opened its home schedule with a victory.

The Chargers are back at home on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Spragins Hall against crosstown rival Alabama A&M in an exhibition matchup.
