Women's Basketball Hosts Alabama A&M Friday in Exhibition at Spragins Hall

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team welcomes crosstown rival Alabama A&M to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Friday at 5:30 p.m. for an exhibition matchup.

General admission to all UAH women's basketball regular season home games is free this season, courtesy of Bentley Automotive. Reserved seating is additionally available for purchase online through HomeTown Ticketing.

Fans in attendance to Tuesday's game will receive a UAH Kinesiology rally towel to help cheer on the Chargers.

Additionally, the UAH Department of Kinesiology is sponsoring halftime's toss-a-ball contest to raise funds that will enhance the student experience and allow for additional career growth opportunities. Fans may purchase toss-a-balls in the Spragins Hall front lobby prior to the game and during the first half. One lucky fan will additionally win a premiere Huntsville sports package as part of Friday's toss-a-ball sponsored by UAH Kinesiology.

The Chargers head into Friday's matchup with a 2-1 overall record, after most recently securing a 71-59 victory over Tuskegee this past Sunday to open the home schedule. Freshman Mia Hollingsworth dominated in Sunday's home opener, scoring a team-high 15 points thanks to impressive 5-for-6 performance from beyond the arc.
 
She earned her first GSC Freshman of the Week award after Sunday's performance.
 
Three Chargers are currently averaging 10 points or more this this season, with Lili Wilken leading the way at 12.0 points per game. Wilken is joined in a double-figure average by Hollingsworth at 11.7 points per game and Millie Brown at 10.7 points per game.
 
Haley Nichols recorded her first double-double of the season in the win over the Golden Tigers, contributing 11 points and pulling down a team-leading 10 rebounds. Nichols leads the Chargers this campaign with 21 total rebounds for an average of 7.0 per game.
 
UAH has had overall success on the boards this season with a team average of 47.0 rebounds per game, which leads the Gulf South Conference entering the weekend.
 
Alabama A&M comes into Friday with a 2-2 overall record, after most recently topping Kansas City at home on Tuesday by a final score of 57-52. The Bulldogs average 62.2 points per game, guided by Lauryn Pendleton at 11.5 points per contest.
 
Following Friday's game, UAH will hit the road up north to begin GSC play against Trevecca Nazarene – the newest member of the conference – next Wednesday at 1 p.m.
