Sam Wilhelm Repeats as All-American at Cross Country Nationals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. | The UAH men's cross country team competed at the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country National Championships on Saturday with Sam Wilhelm earning All-American status once again and the team placing 22nd overall.
 
Wilhelm becomes an All-American for the second consecutive season as the senior wraps up his cross country career in 23rd overall at a time of 30:11.8. He is the first runner in UAH program history to earn All-American twice in his career.
 
The Knob Noster, Missouri, native's time of 30:11.8 on Saturday ranks second in program history for a 10k race and is the fastest time by a Charger all-time at the NCAA Division II Championships.
 
The Chargers also featured three more runners in the top 160 of the field on Saturday, including Nathan Knox in 129th at 31:37.2, Noah George in 144th at 31:45.3 and Nate Pohlsander in 152nd at 31:52.7. Each of their times rank amongst the top 20 in program history for a 10k race.
 
UAH's racing roster at Nationals additionally included Dakota Frank (183rd, 32:16.5), Conner Patterson (190th, 32:29.0) and Jonah Frey (210th, 32:46.3) on Saturday.
 
This was the program's 10th all-time appearance as a team at Nationals, as the Chargers have finished in the top 30 of the field at Nationals for five consecutive years.
