NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The UAH women's basketball team opened Gulf South Conference play for the 2024-25 campaign with a 81-38 drubbing of Trevecca Nazarene on the road on Wednesday afternoon. UAH improves to 3-1 (1-0 GSC), while TNU slides to 2-4 (0-1 GSC).
 
UAH's offense was guided by freshman 
Ivey Maddox in the victory with 20 points as she went 7-for-13 from the field and 5-for-10 on three-pointers across an efficient 19 minutes on the floor.
 
Head coach 
Allen Sharpe's squad also boasted three more players with double-digit points on Wednesday, including 
Haley Nichols at 12 points as well as 
Lili Wilken and 
Alexis Woods with 10 points apiece. Nichols additionally grabbed six rebounds while going a perfect 6-for-6 against the Trojans.
 
Wilken also had a strong all-around performance with three steals and five rebounds.
 
Bella White aided the Chargers scoring effort with a roster-leading eight assists, as she also tied with Woods for the team lead in rebounds with seven boards.
 
Overall, UAH shot 47.7 percent (31-65) from the field against TNU including 34.3 percent (12-35) shooting on three-pointers, while limiting TNU to 29.4 percent (15-51) on field goals.
 
The Chargers also held the edge over the Trojans in rebounds (42-30), points off turnovers (22-6), points in the paint (36-16) and fast break points (14-2).
 
UAH looks ahead a return to Spragins Hall on Saturday with a nonconference matchup against Tennessee Southern at 2 p.m.
