MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH men's basketball team narrowly fell in a high-scoring contest to kick off the 2024-25 season against No. 2 Nova Southeastern on Friday afternoon in an 105-104 overtime thriller.
The Chargers are now 0-1 as the Sharks improved to 3-0 on the year after a game that saw 19 lead changes.
Three point shooting kept UAH in the game in the first half as they shot 7-15 from the field with a 46.7% mark overall from behind the arc.
Luke Burnett led the way, going 5-7 in the first half from three.
Tommy Murr led the Charger offense in scoring as he recorded a career high in points with 41 as he shot 14-25 from the field and 5-12 from three. He added eight free throws, five assists, and played 40 minutes against the Sharks.
The Blue & White put up six blocks in the game, with
Daniel Saylor denying three shots to lead the way. Saylor also had 11 rebounds, with four other Chargers recording five or more rebounds.
UAH held Nova to their lowest point total of the 2024-25 campaign and are the first team to play the Sharks to within single digits.
