Men's Basketball Rolls Past Barry for First Win Under New Head Coach Mick Hedgepeth

MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The UAH men's basketball team notched their first win of the season under new head coach Mick Hedgepeth in an 81-63 victory over Barry in Montevallo's Central State Bank Arena on Saturday evening.

The Chargers are now 1-1 as the Buccaneers dropped to 0-2 on the year. Barry led twice early in the game, but UAH grabbed a lead at the 13:51 mark of the first half and never surrendered the lead for the remainder of the contest.

Blake Campbell paved the way for UAH with a double-double in Saturday's game as he shot 70% from the field with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

Luke Burnett led the Chargers in scoring with 19 points as he went 5-12 from the field and 4-10 from three. Burnett has made two or more three pointers in 10 straight games dating back to last season.

Five different UAH players recorded five or more rebounds in the game as they outrebounded the Bucs 46 to 33.

The Blue & White dominated in the paint offensively as they outscored Barry 40 to 22 inside the painted area.

Next up for the Chargers is their first home game of the season on Tuesday evening when they play host to Point at 6:30 pm.
