HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team won a Gulf South Conference match on Friday evening in Spragins Hall against Union by a score of 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23).
The win improved the Chargers to 22-5 (13-4 GSC), while the Bulldogs dropped to 8-18 (6-11 GSC).
UAH came out swinging in the first two sets of the match, posting a hitting percentage over .300 in both sets and 34 kills combined.
Autumn Mayes led the Chargers in kills with 13, while
Grace-Blythe Cornett had 10 kills to join Mayes in double-digits.
Mary Grace Bundrant posted a .400 hitting percentage and tallied eight kills for UAH in the victory.
Savannah Rutledge and
Ashleigh Murr split time at the setter spot, with Rutledge putting up 21 assists and Murr contributing 18.
Bundrant led the way in blocks with a solo denial and four block assists as three Chargers put up double digit digs.
Tatiana Bonilla secured 11 digs, while Rutledge and Mayes had 15 and 10, respectively.
The Blue & White are back in action tomorrow at 2 pm against Christian Brothers in Spragins Hall.
