HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team won a Gulf South Conference match on Saturday afternoon in Spragins Hall against Christian Brothers by a score of 3-1 (23-25, 25-12, 25-11, 25-14).
With the win, the Chargers moved to 23-5 (14-4 GSC), while the Bucs fell to 7-21 (3-15 GSC).
After dropping the first set of the match 25-23, UAH went on a tear, defeating the Bucs 75-37 over the course of the final three sets, with their lowest hitting percentage being .379 amongst those sets.
Autumn Mayes led UAH in kills with 16 on a .556 hitting percentage as
Caroline Moyer hit .381 and notched 10 kills.
Calli Tanielu and
Tatiana Bonilla led the Chargers in aces, with each player recording two in the match.
Savannah Rutledge had 29 assists to lead the team, while
Ashleigh Murr had the second-most on the squad with 17 assists.
Defensively, the Chargers totaled 13 blocks, which ties for their third-highest total of the season as a team.
Kayla Ward led the team with two solo blocks and five block assists despite playing just three of the four sets in Saturday's match.
Three UAH players recorded double-digit digs, with Mayes (12), Rutledge (11), and Bonilla (11) each surpassing 10 digs for the match.
The Blue & White are back in action at home again next weekend when they host Montevallo and Auburn Montgomery on Friday and Saturday.
