LAKELAND, Fla. | The UAH women's basketball team started off the 2024-25 campaign on the road at Florida Southern with a 74-70 setback on Friday afternoon in nonconference play. UAH's record slides to 0-1, while FSC improves to 1-0.

The Chargers offense featured five players with 10 points or more in the season opener, led by
Millie Brown at 17 points with five made three-pointers across a team-high 38 minutes on the floor.

Lili Wilken had a strong all-around performance with 11 points to go along with five rebounds and a roster-leading eight assists. Â
Mia Hollingsworth (11 points),
Haley Nichols (10 points) and
Alexis Woods each scored in double-figures as well.

Elyse Hughes led the Chargers on the boards with a team-high eight rebounds, as UAH out-rebounded the Moccasins 45-39 in the contest.

Overall, UAH shot 40.3 percent (29-72) from the field and 28.6 percent (10-35) on three-point attempts. The Chargers defense limited the Mocs to a 22.7 percent (5-22) success rate from beyond the arc.

The Chargers wrap up play at the South Region Crossover, hosted by Florida Southern, with a 9 a.m. CT matchup against Rollins on Saturday.
