HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's cross country team finished second overall at the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country South Region Championships on Saturday morning at John Hunt Park to earn the program's fifth consecutive berth to Nationals.

Senior
Sam Wilhelm guided the Chargers to second place as a team with an individual championship at the South Regional 10-kilometer race, as he posted a first-place time of 30:15.99. His time on Saturday now ranks second all-time for the program for a 10k race.

Wilhelm was joined as an All-South Region performer by three teammates who also placed in the top 25, including
Noah George in fourth at 30:58.71,
Nathan Knox in 10th at 31:19.25 and
Nate Pohlsander in 19th at 31:54.69.

UAH also featured strong races on Saturday by
Dakota Frank (29th, 32:14.3),
Conner Patterson (34th, 32:33.9) and
Jonah Frey (41st, 32:45.6).

The Chargers look ahead to competing at the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Sacramento, California, on Saturday, Nov. 23.
