Women's Basketball Wins Seventh Straight Thursday Night over Johnson

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team won its seventh consecutive game on Thursday night in an 82-61 victory over visiting Johnson in nonconference play at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall. UAH improves to 7-1 overall with the victory.
 
Junior Lili Wilken had an outstanding overall performance against the Royals in Thursday night's win, as she recorded her second double-double of the season with 15 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Wilken additionally notched a team-high three steals and two blocks across 29 minutes on the floor.
 
Alexis Woods led the Chargers offense with 19 points in a 7-for-12 performance from the field, while also going 5-for-6 on free throws.
 
Haley Nichols rounded out UAH's double-digit scorers on Thursday with 11 points, with the senior going 5-for-6 on field goals. Bella White helped guide the offense with a team-high six assists, while also grabbing six boards and scoring four points.
 
UAH had an efficient night of shooting in the win, shooting 52.5 percent (32-61) from the field that included a 40.0 percent mark (10-25) on three-pointers. The Chargers also held the edge over the Royals in fast break points (5-2), points off turnovers (14-8), and points in the paint (38-16).
 
The Chargers return to Gulf South Conference play on the road on Saturday at 1 p.m. at No. 21 Lee in Cleveland, Tennessee.
