CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The No. 12 UAH men's basketball team went on the road for the second time in Gulf South Conference play on Saturday afternoon and defeated Lee in a 82-62 victory. The Chargers improved to 9-1 (4-0 GSC) with the win, while the Flames dropped to 4-4 (0-4 GSC).
The win marked the fourth consecutive game that UAH has scored over 80 points and their eighth time this season surpassing 80. The Blue & White have now won eight of their last 10 games against the Flames and two straight.
Tommy Murr led the Chargers in scoring on Saturday with 23 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field, 3-for-4 from three, and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. The Athens, Alabama, native has scored 20 or more points in six games this season. Murr added eight rebounds and five assists in the win.
Blake Campbell poured in an efficient 17 points on 7-for-8 from the field with two three pointers. The graduate transfer added six assists in the victory, his sixth game this season with five or more assists.
Daniel Saylor kept up his stalwart presence down low for UAH as he added three blocks to his league-leading 27 blocks. The senior from Pleasant View, Tennessee, is three blocks away from moving into a tie for sixth place and four blocks away from tying for fifth in career blocks at UAH.
The Chargers dominated in second-chance points with a 32-to-22 advantage, while also controlling the rebounding battle 36-to-24 over the Flames.
UAH returns home for a pair of GSC matchups before a two-week break as they will take on Mississippi College on Thursday and Delta State on Saturday.
