HUNTSVILLE | The No. 13 UAH men's basketball team won their 10th straight game on Thursday evening and remained unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play with a 101-71 victory over Mississippi College at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall. The Chargers improved to 10-1 (5-0 GSC) with the win, while the Choctaws dropped to 6-5 (2-3 GSC).
Their 101 points marked the third time the Blue & White have eclipsed 100 points this season and the second time they have done so in conference play through just five games. UAH outpaced MC in field goal percentage 51.6-to-43.8 percent and knocked down seven more threes than the Choctaws in the victory.
Luke Burnett had a blazing performance from behind the arc as the senior knocked down seven of the team's 11 made three pointers.
Daniel Saylor was the team's second-leading scorer with 17 points on 8-for-10 from the field in addition to 16 rebounds in 25 minutes of play.
Saylor added one block in the game and brought his career total to 109 blocks, tying him with Kip Owens for fifth place all-time in Charger history.
Tommy Murr scored 14 points and totaled seven assists in the win and was 6-of-7 from the free throw line to lead the Chargers in the category.
The Chargers got to the line 29 times as opposed to the Choctaws 15 attempts from the stripe. UAH also outrebounded MC 44-to-28 and had an eight-to-zero advantage in fastbreak buckets.
UAH returns to action on Saturday when they take on Delta State at 4 pm in Spragins Hall.
