Lili Wilken's 30-Point Performance Highlights Women's Basketball Victory over DSU

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team picked up a 77-37 victory over visiting Delta State on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 9-2 (5-1 GSC), while DSU slides to 8-4 (4-2 GSC).
 
This is the first time in program history UAH has accrued nine wins by December, as the Chargers have now outscored conference opponents by 20 points or more four times this season.
 
UAH trailed Delta State 12-11 after the first quarter, but the Chargers outpaced the Statesmen 66-25 for the rest of the way to secure the GSC victory.
 
Lili Wilken had an outstanding offensive performance for the Chargers with a season-high 30 points, with the junior going 10-for-16 from the field and 4-for-6 on three-pointers. She also added a team-high eight rebounds and two assists across her 38 minutes on the floor on Saturday.
 
Alexis Woods rated second on the UAH offense with 13 points, as she extends her streak of double-digit scoring to four games in a row. Woods went 5-for-8 on field goals including one made three-pointer, while also grabbing five rebounds.
 
Overall, UAH shot 52.8 percent (28-53) from the field and 42.1 percent (8-19) on three-pointers, while limiting DSU to 23.3 percent (10-43) from the floor. The Chargers also held the edge over the Statesmen in rebounds (42-21), points in the paint (36-14), points off turnovers (10-6) and second chance points (11-4).
 
UAH looks ahead to its final action of the 2024 calendar year on Monday, Dec. 30 at Spragins Hall against visiting LaGrange, who are the Chargers last nonconference opponent of the regular season.
