BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South conference announced its weekly women's basketball award winners on Tuesday, and UAH was represented by Ivey Maddox as GSC Freshman of the Week.
 
Maddox becomes the second Chargers freshman to be named GSC Freshman of the Week this season.
 
A native of Cullman, Alabama, Maddox helped lead UAH to dominant victories over Trevecca Nazarene and UT Southern this past week with 42 total points, with 20 coming against TNU and a season-high 22 against UTS. She went 16-for-22 from the field and 9-for-14 on three-pointers in addition to grabbing 10 total rebounds.
 
This season, Maddox has appeared in all five of the Chargers games with a 10.4 points per game average while shooting 52.6 percent (20-38) from the field.
 
The Chargers jump back into GSC play this weekend with the first home conference game at Spragins Hall on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Valdosta State.
