Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. | The UAH softball team cruised to a 13-2 victory in five innings over Davis & Elkins on Friday evening at the Blue Ridge Battle, hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan. UAH improves to 9-5, while DEC slides to 6-4.
 
The Chargers amassed 16 base hits overall in the victory on Friday, guided by Maddie Cartron's 3-for-4 performance with a team-high four RBI. Cartron's day at the plate was highlighted by a three-run homer as part of UAH's five-run rally in the second.
 
Cartron now has two home runs this season.
 
Sadie Thompson also generated a three-hit performance against the Senators, while also scoring three runs and driving in one run. Alexa Douthitt tied with Thompson with three runs scored, as the sophomore also drew a team-high two walks.
 
Laura Harbin registered three RBI in a 2-for-4 day at the plate, as she smacked her second home run of the season – a two-run blast – in the five-run second.
 
Lawren Hayes, Jada Henderson and Kaylee Vaught also had two hits apiece to help guide the Chargers offense.
 
Josie Thompson improves to 3-4 on the season, after notching the win with 4.0 innings, two runs allowed and six strikeouts.
 
UAH is back in action on Saturday with day two at the Blue Ridge Battle with matchups slated against Ohio Dominican at 2 p.m. and Northwood at 4 p.m.
