Women's Basketball Picks Up Senior Day Win over Visiting CBU

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team picked up a 70-55 Saturday victory over visiting Christian Brothers on Senior Day at Spragins Hall. UAH improves to 9-16 (8-14 GSC) while the Bucs drop to 2-24 (2-20 GSC).
 
Elyse Hughes guided the Charger offense with an 18-point outing on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting from the field and she also connected on 6-of-7 free throws. The sophomore added two assists and two blocks in the win.
 
Haley Nichols and Bella White joined Hughes in double digit scoring on the day with 14 and 10 points, respectively. The two combined for a total of 18 rebounds in the contest as White grabbed 10 boards on her way to a double-double.
 
The difference for the Chargers showed up in the interior game as the home side outscored the visitors in the paint by a 42-12 margin.
 
UAH is back in action for the last weekend of the regular season with a trip to West Florida on Thursday followed by a visit to Valdosta State on Saturday, March 2nd.
