TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The UAH baseball team won a midweek matchup in a slugfest with Tuskegee in a 16-11 victory on Wednesday afternoon in Tuskegee. The Chargers improved to 12-4 overall, while the Golden Tigers fell to 3-11.
Highlighting the day was
Merik Carter recording his 10th consecutive hit which broke the UAH record in the category in a 3-for-4 day at the plate.
The game also marked the third straight contest in which the Chargers had 10 or more players record at least one hit.
Joining Carter in the multi-hit group today were
Jackson Lindsey,
Colin Baeder,
Presley Walker, and
Jayce Upton who each tallied two hits in the win.
Walker contributed a pair of doubles while Carter knocked his third homer of the season.
On the mound,
Logan Mooney got the start and went 4.2 innings and gave up three earned runs.
Landon Singley earned the win and improved to 1-1 facing two batters in 0.1 innings of work.
Connor Edwards threw two innings and gave up one earned run, while
Tanner Giles appeared as the final reliever of the game and threw 1.1 innings and surrendered just one hit and one run.
The Chargers will travel to Pensacola, Florida, this weekend for a matchup with No. 9 West Florida in a three game series beginning at 1 PM on Saturday.
