BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The UAH men's basketball team's run at the 2024 Gulf South Conference Men's Basketball Championships came to a close with a 75-69 loss to first-seeded West Georgia in the tournament final on Sunday afternoon at the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University. UAH dips to 21-10, while UWG rises to 26-5.
UAH was represented on the GSC All-Tournament Team by
Luke Burnett and
Tommy Murr.

The Chargers now await their fate within the NCAA Division II South Region with the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championships selection show on Sunday night at 10 p.m. CT. UAH was recently ranked fifth regionally prior to the GSC tournament, with the top eight ranked teams receiving NCAA tournament berths.

Burnett led the Chargers offense with 18 points across 36 minutes on the floor on Sunday, as he went 7-for-16 from the field that included a team-high four made three-pointers. Burnett also added four rebounds and three assists.

Three more UAH players joined Burnett in double-figure points on Sunday, including Murr (13 points),
Jack Kostel (11 points) and
Dalton Dodd (10 points).

Kostel additionally dished out a team-high seven assists while snagging a roster-leading two steals. He also played a team-best 38 minutes on Sunday.

Daniel Saylor pulled down a roster-best seven rebounds while also posting three assists, two blocks and eight points.

This was the UAH men's basketball program's 23rd all-time appearance in the GSC tournament and the 11th time in team history to make it to the GSC championship game.
