HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team fell in the first game of a three-game Gulf South Conference series on Friday evening against Valdosta State by a score of 23-7. The Chargers dropped to 14-10 (3-7 GSC) and the Blazers improved to 11-10 (7-6 GSC).
The Blue & White took an early 3-0 lead as
Brock Butler knocked a three-run homer in the first inning and grabbed another lead in the second inning at 4-3 with a
Caleb Mahan RBI single, but ultimately the Blazer bats proved to be too much for UAH to keep up with.
At the plate, UAH had nine players record hits, including a three-hit performance from
Will Noles.
Carson Villalta and Butler each tallied two hits on the day. Butler, Mahan,
Colin Baeder,
JC Wilburn, and
Hunter Tillman each contributed RBI for the Chargers.
UAH and VSU will face off tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
