HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team fell in the final game of their Gulf South Conference series against Montevallo on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park by a score of 5-2.
The Chargers had a one run lead on two separate occasions in the series finale, but a four-run eighth inning from the Falcons sealed the victory for UM.
Caleb Mahan highlighted the Charger offense on the day, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Carson Villalta and
Jackson Lindsey each had two hits, with Lindsey contributing a double.
Brock Butler also doubled for UAH.
Will Tarpley held the Falcons in check on the mound for seven innings and left the game with a one-run lead. Tarpley struck out six and gave up just five hits on the afternoon.
Will Hotalen,
Carson Herring, and
Aubry Cleghorn each had scoreless relief appearances to close out the game on the mound for the Chargers.
UAH will face off with Tuskegee for the second time this season in a midweek matchup on Tuesday before hosting Lee next weekend in another GSC series.
