HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team won a midweek contest against non-conference opponent Tuskegee on Wednesday afternoon, with a 13-3 victory. The Chargers improved to 16-15 on the year, while the Golden TIgers fell to 7-19.
UAH kicked off their scoring in the second inning with a
Merik Carter home run before a high-scoring third inning in which they scored eight runs. The Chargers added the rest of their runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings to secure the run-rule victory in the seventh on a walk-off wild pitch.
Carter led the offense for the Blue & White as he went 3-for-4 with three RBI at the plate with a homer, double, and single, coming up just short of his second cycle of the season. He leads UAH in home runs this season with five.
Brock Butler had a 3-for-5 day at the plate with one of four Charger doubles on the day.
Carson Villalta and
Ramie Harrison capped off the extra-base hits for UAH.
On the mound, the Chargers gave up just a single hit on the afternoon between eight pitchers, holding the Golden Tigers to three runs.
Will Griffith earned the win on the mound in relief of starter
Collin Hollingsworth as he pitched 1.1 innings and struck out two.

Landon Singley,
Payton Lemons, and
Luka Boylan each held Tuskegee scoreless in each of their relief appearances.
UAH will play host to Gulf South Conference foe Lee on Friday and Saturday in a three game series. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon at Charger Park.
