HUNTSVILLE | The UAH baseball team fell in the first game of a three-game Gulf South Conference series against No. 15 Lee on Friday evening 13-3. The Chargers fell to 16-16 overall (4-12 GSC), while the Flames improved to 23-9 (12-4 GSC).
Lee was held in check through the first inning as
Jacob Peters struck out two in the frame, but the Flames would go on to score runs in all but one inning for the remainder of the game.
The Chargers notched 10 hits in the game to Lee's 13, but left 10 runners on base.
Will Noles and
Hunter Tillman were the only UAH batters to have multiple hits.
Ramie Harrison recorded a double, his seventh of the year, while
JC Wilburn knocked his third homer of the season.
On the mound Peters threw five innings and struck out four, while
Jonah Smith and
Will Hotalen each struck out a pair in relief outings.
The Flames and Chargers will face off in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
