LOUISVILLE, Ky. | UAH softball sophomore Alexa Douthitt has been named to the 2024 Tucci/NFCA Division II Player of the Year watchlist as announced on Thursday.
 
She is one of 121 NCAA Division II softball players named to the watchlist that additionally is comprised of the nation's top pitchers, and she is also one of 15 players recognized from the South Region.
 
Douthitt has been the Chargers offensive leader in the 2024 campaign with a team-high .469 batting average, 1.470 OPS, 39 runs, 12 homers, 44 RBI, 93 total bases and 12 walks.
 
She currently ranks amongst the top 50 nationally in batting average, home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, and total bases ahead of the Chargers home series against Lee this Friday and Saturday.
 
Douthitt has also excelled in GSC play, posting a .396 batting average, 21 runs, nine home runs and 23 RBI over 15 games.
 
The Tucci/NFCA Division II Player of the Year watchlist is compiled by the elected members of the NFCA Division II All-American Committee with one head coach representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
