Box Score CLINTON, Miss. | The UAH softball team's run at the 2024 NCAA Division II South 2 Regional came to a close with a 4-2 setback to Tampa after UAH earned a spot in the semifinals with a 2-1 victory over West Alabama to start the day. UAH ends its season at 40-18, while UT rises to 43-10 and advances to the South 2 Regional final Saturday.

This was the UAH softball program's 21st consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and the 26th overall for the Chargers. UAH has achieved 40 wins or more in a season a total of 24 times under head coach
Les Stuedeman.

A total of six UAH players ended the year with batting averages of .310 or higher. Additionally, the Chargers' 72 home runs this season are the most by the team since 2012.

Game one: UAH 2, UWA 1
The Chargers came from behind to win the first elimination game of the afternoon by a final score of 2-1, as UAH took the late lead in the top of the sixth with two runs highlighted by an RBI double by
Jada Henderson.

Lawren Hayes all the way from first, as Henderson went on to plate the Chargers second run on a sac fly by
Kaylee Vaught.

Katie Bracken was stellar in the circle for the Chargers, tossing the full 7.0 innings with four hits allowed, one run and eight strikeouts. Her record improves to 18-5 this season after working her 18th complete game of the season.

Game two: UT 4, UAH 2
The Chargers comeback bid came up short as the Spartans broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth with two runs as UT went on to win the matchup 4-2.

Maddie Cartron provided a game-tying, two-RBI double in the bottom of the fifth for her 10th double of the season. She finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate.

Henderson also turned in a 2-for-3 performance offensively as UAH totaled six base hits as a team.

Josie Thompson kept the Chargers within striking distance after UAH went down 2-0 early, with the left-hander tossing 4.2 innings with one run allowed out of the bullpen. Thompson's record dropped to 14-8 with the loss.
