Box Score OXFORD, Ala. | The UAH softball team fell to No. 1 seed Mississippi College on day two of the 2024 Gulf South Conference Softball Championships by a final score of 3-2 at Choccolocco Park on Thursday evening. UAH slides to 38-15, while MC improves to 44-6.

Fourth-seeded UAH moves on to play an elimination game on Friday at 12:30 p.m. against seventh-seeded West Alabama. The winner of that contest would advance to play again on Friday at 6 p.m. against No. 2 seed Auburn Montgomery.

Mississippi College pulled ahead with three runs in the top of the third as the Choctaws held on to win the matchup 3-2 on Thursday.

Jada Henderson put the Chargers on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run for her third round-tripper of the season. Henderson additionally added an RBI single in the sixth as she finished game 3-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI.

Kaylee Vaught also provided an extra-base hit with a double in the fourth.

Josie Thompson started in the circle for the Chargers, turning in 2.1 innings with three runs allowed and two strikeouts. She took the loss to drop to 14-7 this season.

Katie Bracken was strong in relief of Thompson, as she hurled the last 4.2 innings with no runs allowed, zero walks and five strikeouts.
