HUNTSVILLE | The UAH softball team garnered three NFCA All-South Region honorees with
Alexa Douthitt and
Lawren Hayes as First Team selections as well as
Jada Henderson earning a Second Team nod.

Hayes is an All-South Region performer for the second consecutive season, while Douthitt and Henderson collect the first all-region honor of their careers. All three players have started all 55 of the Chargers games so far this season, as UAH enters the NCAA tournament with a 39-16 overall record.

Douthitt – the GSC Co-Player of the Year – has been the Chargers overall offensive leader in her sophomore campaign with a .451 batting average to go along with 12 doubles, 14 home runs and 59 RBI. Her 132 total bases rate fifth in the GSC.

Hayes joins Douthitt as the two Chargers with 100-plus total bases this season, as she's recorded six doubles, a league-high eight triples and four home runs for 110 total bases in 2024. She has played all 55 games at second base for UAH, committing only three errors across 183 total chances for a .984 fielding percentage.

Henderson boasts a .451 batting average and a team-high 16 doubles, as she's split her time between outfield, catcher and designated player over 55 games this season. She leads the GSC with a .541 on-base percentage, while also driving in 34 runs.

UAH looks ahead to its first action of the 2024 NCAA South 2 Regional on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. as the sixth seed against third-seeded Tampa on the campus of host Mississippi College.

Established in 1983, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) is the professional growth organization for fastpitch softball coaches from all competitive levels of play. Although collegiate coaches comprised the majority of the organization's membership in the early days, today they are joined by high school, travel ball, professional and international coaches, along with umpires, clubs, companies and fans of fastpitch softball.
