BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its first 2024 weekly cross country honorees, and UAH was represented by Lucy Barker as both GSC Women's Runner and Freshman of the Week and Dakota Frank as GSC Men's Freshman of the Week.
 
Barker guided the UAH women's team in their season-opening race last Friday night at the Montevallo Falcon Twilight Classic with a first-place time of 18:20.77. She is now tied for 11th on UAH's all-time fastest performers list in a 5k race.
 
Frank also finished in the top spot for the men's 8k at Montevallo, clocking in at 25:29.22 for his first collegiate race.
 
Both UAH's men's and women's teams also placed first overall in the team standings at the Montevallo Twilight Classic.
 
The Chargers hit the road this weekend to compete in the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday morning.
