CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. | The UAH men's and women's cross country teams continued the 2024 campaign at the Virginia Invitational on Saturday morning with the teams combining for eight top-30 finishes.

In the team competition, the Chargers men's squad was third overall while the women's team placed fourth.

UAH's men's squad led off the day with an 8k competition, led by senior
Sam Wilhelm in fourth overall at a time of 24:07.0 in a field primarily consisting of Division I runners.
Â
Wilhelm's time on Saturday ranks fifth in program history as he now owns all of the top five times for the Chargers in an 8k race.

The senior was joined in the top 30 by teammates
Noah George in 25th at 25:23.1,
Nathan Knox in 27th at 25:37.6, and
Nate Pohlsander in 29th at 25:56.1.

The Chargers women's team was guided by
Abby Weist in 27th overall at a time of 18:38.8, followed by teammates
Tamsyn Gibbs in 28th at 19:41.4,
Amelia Brady in 29th at 19:51.7, and
Lucy Barker in 30th at 20:01.8.

UAH's men also featured top-40 performances in the race by
Jonah Frey (31st, 26:14.5),
Dakota Frank (32nd, 26:17.1),
Conner Patterson (33rd, 26:26.2),
Corey Adamski (34th, 26:33.1),
Cole Robinson (36th, 26:44.0),
Jake Tournillion (37th, 26:47.1),
Will Anglea (38th, 26:48.9), and
Adam Taylor (26:54.8).
