BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's cross country award winners on Wednesday, and UAH swept both awards with Sam Wilhelm as GSC Runner of the Week and Dakota Frank as GSC Freshman of the Week.
 
Wilhelm garners his fifth GSC Runner of the Week award of his career and first of the season, while Frank picks up his second straight GSC Freshman of Week honor.
 
A native of Knob Noster, Missouri, Wilhelm guided the Chargers at the Virginia Invitational 8k on Saturday with a fourth-place time of 24:07.0, racing against a field that included nationally-ranked Virginia and North Carolina.
 
His time on Saturday now ranks fifth in program history for an 8k race.
 
Frank picks up his second conference award of the year after notching 32nd overall at the Virginia Invitational at a time of 26:17.1.
 
UAH looks ahead to competing at the Arkansas-hosted Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Saturday, Sept. 28.
