HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team opened Gulf South Conference play at Charger Park on Friday night with a 1-0 victory over visiting Trevecca Nazarene. UAH rises to 2-3-0 (1-0-0 GSC), while TNU slides to 1-2-0 (1-2-0 GSC).

The Chargers got on the board in the 20th minute when
Sabrina Da Silva headed in her second marker of the season off a feed by
Carley White for White's first assist in 2024.

Both sides would go scoreless in the second half to give the contest its 1-0 final score in favor of UAH.

Sophomore
CeCe Szopa played the full time in goal for the Chargers, posting one save and navigating two corner kick chances by the Trojans for the victory. This is the second time this season Szopa has recorded a shutout, as her goals against average lowers to 0.60 in 2024.

UAH's defense allowed just one shot on goal to TNU in Friday's contest, as the Charger defense was guided by
Emily Labus and Campbell Tarantino who played the full 90 minutes of the win.
