HUNTSVILLE | The UAH volleyball team won their Gulf South Conference opener on Tuesday night as they defeated Mississippi College in three sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-20).
The Chargers improved to 10-1 (1-0 GSC) with the victory, while the Lady Choctaws fell to 2-6 (0-1 GSC).
UAH had 43 kills in the match compared to 29 for MC and notched 5 aces. The Blue & White posted a .239 attack percentage and tallied seven blocks to increase their conference leading total for the season to 122.
Caroline Moyer led the way in kills for UAH with eight and a .421 attack percentage.
Mary Grace Bundrant had an efficient seven kills on a .700 attack percentage and 4 blocks.
Ashleigh Murr (18 assists) and
Savannah Rutledge (14 assists) combined for 32 assists, while
Tatiana Bonilla led the Chargers in digs with 14.
UAH continues GSC play on Friday when they take a trip to Cleveland, Tenn. to take on Lee.
