CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The UAH volleyball team won their first Gulf South Conference road matchup on Friday night as they defeated Lee in three sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-20).
The Chargers improved to 11-1 (2-0 GSC) with the victory, while the Flames dropped to 7-7 (1-1 GSC).
UAH had 11 blocks overall for a 3.67 blocks per set average in the match, a category in which the Chargers rank top five nationally with a 2.96 blocks per set average.
Autumn Mayes and
Caroline Moyer led the way in kills for UAH with nine apiece, while
Zoe Smith had eight kills on a team-high .333 attack percentage.
Savannah Rutledge had 19 assists and three of the Chargers' seven service aces in the match.
Mayes had 15 digs to lead the Blue & White, while
Tatiana Bonilla had 14 digs.
Grace-Blythe Cornett posted six blocks in the match to highlight the Charger defense at the net.
UAH heads to Nashville tomorrow to take on Trevecca Nazarene for the first time as a GSC opponent to wrap up their weekend road trip.
