HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team opens the 2024 season at home with matches at Charger Park on Thursday at 5 p.m. against McKendree and Saturday at 12 p.m. against Kentucky Wesleyan.

UAH additionally will host a neutral contest on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. between McKendree and Montevallo.

The Gulf South Conference and FloSports agreed to expand live streaming coverage to soccer in the 2024 season, with all UAH home games and road GSC contests being exclusively streamed on FloFC.

The Chargers are coming off an 8-6-4 overall record and a 5-5-3 record in GSC play in the 2023 season, which is the first time since 2009 UAH has produced winning records both overall and in conference matches.

Jayla Gillespie who scored a team-high seven goals in 2023.

CeCe Szopa – the Chargers leading goalkeeper last year – enters her sophomore season after starting 13 games last season with a 1.20 goals against average and 60 saves.

McKendree is coming off a 16-2-3 overall record in the 2023 campaign, as the Bearcats averaged 1.98 goals per game while allowing only 13 goals last year. UAH holds a 0-2-0 all-time record against McKendree.

Kentucky Wesleyan went 2-13-1 overall a year ago, with the Panthers scoring 13 goals in 2023 while allowing 45 goals. Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between UAH and KWC.

After this week's season-opening matches, UAH hits the road to the Sunshine State to play at Tampa next Wednesday followed by Saint Leo on Friday.
