NASHVILLE | The UAH volleyball team swept their season-opening match against Anderson (SC) in day one of action at the Ray Thrasher Classic hosted by Trevecca Nazarene on Friday afternoon by a score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-23). UAH is 1-0 on the year, while Anderson fell to 0-2.
The Chargers have won two straight matches against the Trojans and are now 2-1 all-time against Anderson, a national quarterfinalist during last year's NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championships.Â
Six different UAH players tallied four or more kills during Friday's contest, with
Caroline Moyer leading the team with nine kills with a .179 attack percentage. Setters
Savannah Rutledge and
Ashleigh Murr contributed double-digit assists to the winning cause, with Rutledge doling out 13 and Murr totaling 11.Â
Defensively,
Autumn Mayes totaled a team-high 13 digs, while
Kaila Sisk led the way with 2.5 blocks.Â
The Chargers are back in action with a pair of matches tomorrow with a 9 am matchup against Southwest Oklahoma State and a 4:30 pm match against Davenport.
