HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team blanked Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon, as they picked up a 2-0 win at Charger Park. UAH improves to 1-1-0, while KWC drops to 0-2-0 on the season.

The Chargers got on the board first with a penalty kick goal from
Jayla Gillespie in the 19th minute, as UAH would carry that advantage into the half.
CeCe Szopa picked up her four saves on the day in the first half, while the Chargers defense limited the Panthers to just one corner kick in the opening 45 minutes.

UAH came out strong in the second half as
Sabrina Da Silva picked up her first goal as a Charger.
Carley White and Gillespie struck with a combined five shots to keep the Charger offense cruising.

The Chargers defense limited the Panthers to just one corner kick and zero shots on goal in the second half with Szopa picking up the shutout victory. Overall, UAH had seven shots on goal and accrued six corner kick chances.

UAH heads on the road next week to the Sunshine State to take on Tampa and Saint Leo. The Chargers will face off against the Spartans on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT before heading to the Lions on Friday at 6 p.m.
