Women's Basketball Cruises Past West Alabama for 11th Straight Home Win

HUNSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team cruised to a 80-55 Military Appreciation Day victory over visiting West Alabama on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 14-3 (9-2 GSC), while UWA slides to 2-13 (2-9 GSC).
 
UAH now boasts an 11-0 home record this season with Saturday's win, which is the first time the Chargers have accrued 11 home wins or more since 2019-20.
 
Junior Lili Wilken led the way for the Chargers in Saturday's victory with a team-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and three steals across 33 minutes on the floor.
 
Two more UAH players joined Wilken in double-digit scoring, including Bella White at 14 points and Millie Brown at 12 points. Brown sank a team-high four three-pointers, while White led the Chargers with four assists.
 
The Chargers outrebounded the Tigers 41-27 in the GSC matchup, as Haley Nichols guided the Chargers on the boards with eight rebounds. Nine different Chargers had at least two rebounds in the win.
 
UAH shot 53.7 percent (29-54) from the field and 50.0 percent (8-16) on three-pointers, while holding the edge over UWA in points in the paint (40-24), points off turnovers (20-14) and bench points (27-16).
 
The Chargers hit the road for two games next week, beginning on Thursday at Valdosta State at 5 p.m. CT.
