ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. | The UAH baseball team dropped their season-opener on Friday evening as they fell in non-conference play on the road against Flagler by a score of 10-1. The game was the first of the season for both squads.
The Saints took an early 2-0 lead as they scored two in the first inning before the Chargers would score their first and only run of the game in the third.
Will Noles and
Jackson Lindsey led UAH at the plate with two hits apiece, while
Jayce Upton contributed the lone RBI for the Chargers with his RBI double in the third inning.
Ty Hutto got the start in game one and pitched four innings for UAH with five strikeouts and three earned runs. Additionally,
Jacob Peters saw 3.1 innings of work as he struck out four and gave up three earned runs.
Payton Lemons pitched the final 0.2 innings for UAH and struck out one.
UAH gets back in action with a noon first pitch tomorrow in St. Augustine, Florida, for a Saturday doubleheader in the final two games of the three-game series against Flagler.
