BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced their cross country runners of the week on Wednesday and UAH cross country's
Ahmed Ibrahim was named the conference runner of the week after a first-place finish at the Lucian Rosa Invitational hosted by UW-Parkside over the weekend.
Ibrahim won the individual title at the Lucian Rosa Invitational with a 24:10.0 time in the 8k to win. He defeated six of last year's NCAA Division II All-Americans in the race hosted by UW-Parkside. The time also ranks eighth all-time in UAH men's cross country history, with
Sam Wilhelm holding all of the top seven times in program history. This is Ibrahim's first GSC Runner of the Week award and the first of the season for the Chargers.Â
The Chargers are back in action when they host the UAH Chargers Cross Country Invite on October 11th at John Hunt Park in Huntsville.Â
