HUNTSVILLE | UAH men's and women's cross country hosted and competed in the UAH Chargers XC Invite on Saturday morning at John Hunt Park.
The men, ranked No. 26 nationally, finished third overall as a team. Ahmed Ibrahim won his second race of the season with a time of 24:05.6. Senior Conner Patterson recorded a top-20 finish with a 24:53.0, followed closely by junior Tripp Miller and senior Nate Pohlsander, who both finished in the top 30.
The women also had a strong showing, placing fourth overall as a team. Sophomore Tamsyn Gibbs led all Chargers with a time of 22:05.87, good for 21st place — improving her mark from last year's event by 37 seconds. She was followed by sophomore Lexi Hinote and junior Catherine Truemper, who both finished in the top 30.
The UAH Chargers XC Invite marked the end of the regular season for both the men's and women's cross country teams. UAH will now prepare for the GSC Championships, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, in Memphis, Tenn.
