MEMPHIS, Tenn. | The UAH women's soccer team secured a 2-0 road victory over Christian Brothers on Sunday afternoon, powered by a pair of second-half goals from
Carley White. The result moves the Chargers to 6-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in Gulf South Conference play, while Christian Brothers goes to 2-6-1 (0-5 GSC).
After a scoreless first half, White broke the deadlock in the 66th minute with a shot to the center of the net, assisted by
Jayla Gillespie. She struck again in the 74th minute, finishing to the right off of a pass from
Katey Ann Klingel to double the Chargers' lead.
UAH controlled the match offensively, outshooting Christian Brothers 20-7 and recording eight shots on goal, while the Charger defense held the Lady Buccaneers scoreless on target.
Carley White's brace brings her season total to 11 goals, ranking her fifth in the conference in total goals and third in game-winning goals.
The Chargers return to Huntsville for the upcoming weekend, hosting Mississippi College at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, and Delta State at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19.
