HUNTSVILLE | The UAH men's basketball team took a short road trip to take on Alabama A&M at the AAMU Event Center on Monday evening in an exhibition game ahead of their season opener and narrowly fell to the Bulldogs 75-68.
The Chargers led at the half 32-27 over A&M after they posted a 58.33 percent mark from three point range in the first half and their largest lead was 10 points at 29-19 in the first half.
The Bulldogs shot 59.3 percent in the second half from the field to erase the Charger lead, while UAH was just 9-for-25 overall in the second half.
UAH was led offensively by
Matt Thurman who scored 15 points and was 5-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from three with six rebounds.
Knute Wood was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, with all shots being from behind the arc for 12 points as he added two assists.
Thomas Allard paced the Charger defense with three steals and also added 11 points as he went 8-for-9 from the free throw line and had one made three pointer.
The Blue & White will kick off their regular season officially on November 14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. when they take on Nova Southeastern in a rematch of the South Region Championship game from last season.
