FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. | The UAH men's basketball team went on the road to take on the top-ranked team in the country in Nova Southeastern on Friday evening and fell 87-79 to the Sharks in a neck-and-neck battle to begin the 2025-26 basketball season.
UAH and Nova were tied at 42-42 after a half of play, with the Chargers out-pacing the Sharks in field goal percentage 58.6 percent to 43.8 percent.
The Chargers were also 4-for-12 from three in the half, while Nova was 1-for-9.
UAH and Nova went back-and-forth in the second half as the Chargers held a lead with 3:50 left in the game at 75-74. But the Sharks ultimately pulled in front and ended the game on on a 15-to-4 run to seal the win.
The Blue & White were led offensively by
Quentin Toles who put up 23 points on 8-for-18 shooting with three made three pointers.
Matt Thurman and
Thomas Allard joined Toles in double-digit scoring, as Thurman added 11 points and Allard had 10.
Griffin Cooper and
Jordan Mabe paced the Chargers on the boards with seven rebounds apiece, while Cooper posted three blocks. The pair also had nine points each.
The Chargers are back in action in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Saturday, November 15 against Barry at 6:30 p.m.
