No. 6 Men's Basketball Rolls Past Rams for First Home Win

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 6 UAH men's basketball hosted the first of three games across four days as they defeated Bluefield 107-72 in their first game of the Alabama Credit Union Classic presented by Power Brands Hospitality Group. 

The Chargers improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Rams dropped to 1-5 on the season. 

UAH was blazing in the first half as they shot 67.74 percent from the field with a 50 percent mark from three point land. Overall, the Chargers shot 45.5 percent from three as they went 15-for-33. 

Four different Chargers scored in double digits as Trey Hamilton led the way as he went 5-for-6 from three and scored 18 points. Quentin Toles and Graham Martin added 13 apiece, while Thomas Allard had 12 points for the Blue & White. 

Matt Thurman played just eight minutes in the game for the Chargers and tallied eight rebounds to lead the category. Jordan Mabe, Garrison Sharpe, and Toles each totaled three assists. 

UAH got significant contribution from their bench unit on Saturday as they outpaced Bluefield's bench scoring 68-to-31.

The Chargers will face off with USC Beaufort on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Sand Sharks won their matchup against Christian Brothers 78-73 on Saturday evening at the ACU Classic.
