HUNTSVILLE | The No. 4 UAH men's basketball team won their 23rd consecutive game on Thursday night with a 72-55 victory over Christian Brothers at Kelly Court in Spragins Hall.
The Chargers improved to 23-1 (18-0 GSC) with the victory, while the Buccaneers fell to 9-14 (5-12 GSC).
UAH used a high percentage at the free throw line to push them ahead of CBU as they converted 86.7 percent of their free throws as opposed to the Bucs 58.3 percent mark at the line.
Tommy Murr led the Charger attack on the offensive end as he scored 27 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field with seven free throws and two made threes. The senior additionally posted four rebounds and five assists.
Matt Thurman added 14 points in the win, knocking down two threes and adding four points from the free throw line.
Daniel Saylor and Thurman tied for the team lead in rebounds, each hauling in seven.
Blake Campbell added five boards to round out the Chargers with five or more in the game.
Saylor rejected two CBU shots in the game to bring his career total to 141 blocks.
The Blue & White dominated the Bucs in fastbreak points, outscoring CBU 15-to-0 in the category. UAH also controlled the painted area as they outmuscled the Bucs with points in the paint 38-to-26.
The UAH men's basketball team will host Senior Night and Homecoming on Saturday in their final regular season home contest of the season as they play host to Union at 4 p.m.
