No. 4 Men's Basketball Finishes Strong on Senior Night for 24th Straight Win

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 4 UAH men's basketball team won their share of the Gulf South Conference regular season title on Saturday night as they claimed their 24th straight victory in a 88-70 win over Union. 

The Chargers improved to 24-1 (19-0 GSC) with the victory, while the Bulldogs dropped to 12-12 (8-10 GSC). 

UAH held just a three point lead headed into the half at 44-41, but outscored Union 44-29 in the second half to give them a comfortable win down the stretch. 

Tommy Murr followed up a 27 point performance on Thursday evening with a 29 point outing on Saturday on 11-for-20 from the field with a 3-for-6 mark from behind the arc. The senior also had four steals to lead UAH. 

Blake Campbell was second in scoring for UAH with 16 points to go along with seven rebounds in the win. Daniel Saylor added 11 points with seven rebounds and three blocks to lead the Chargers in blocks.  

The Blue & White held a 46-to-20 points in the paint advantage over the Bulldogs along with a 10-to-2 fastbreak point lead. UAH shot 19-for-22 from the free throw line overall, while Union shot just four free throws in the game. 

UAH will head on the road next week as they face off with Auburn Montgomery on Thursday and Montevallo on Saturday.
