HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team cruised past Christian Brothers on Thursday night at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall with an 88-54 victory in the Gulf South Conference matchup. UAH improves to 20-4 (15-3 GSC), while CBU slides to 0-23 (0-17 GSC).
The Chargers have officially clinched first round hosting rights for the 2025 Truist GSC Women's Basketball Championships, which will be held at Spragins Hall on Tuesday, March 4th at 5:30 p.m. More information on tickets will be available soon on UAHChargers.com.
Mia Hollingsworth guided the UAH offense in the rout with 24 points, as she went 7-for-11 from the field that included a 6-for-10 mark on three-pointers. Her 24 points on Thursday are a season-high for the freshman.
Hollingsworth was joined in double-digit scoring by
Millie Brown with 15 points and
Alexis Woods with 14 points.
Woods additionally pulled down nine rebounds to tie with
Haley Nichols for the team lead. Nichols also nearly achieved a double-double with nine points on the night.
Bella White had a strong all-around performance for the Chargers, posting a team-high seven assists to go along with six rebounds, one steal, and one block.
UAH shot 42.4 percent (25-59) from the field for the contest that included a 37.1 percent (13-35) mark on three-pointers, as the Chargers also held the over the Buccaneers in rebounds (55-28), points off turnovers (13-4), second chance points (28-4), and points in the paint (20-18).
The Chargers wrap up the 2024-25 regular season home schedule on Saturday at 2 p.m. – a Senior Day matchup – against No. 13 Union.
