Women's Basketball Tripped Up in Senior Day Matchup Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's basketball team fell in a Gulf South Conference matchup to No. 13 Union by a final score of 93-58 on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall on Senior Day. UAH slides to 20-5 (15-4 GSC), while UU improves to 22-3 (17-1 GSC).
 
Junior Lili Wilken led the Chargers offense in the setback with a game-high 29 points, as she went 11-for-20 from the field and 4-for-8 on three-pointers across 31 minutes on the floor.
 
Wilken additionally led the team with three assists while rating second on the squad with four rebounds.
 
The Chargers performed well from beyond the arc, shooting 47.8 percent (11-23) on three-pointers on Saturday. Wilken hit a team-best four three-pointers, followed by Ivey Maddox and Mia Hollingsworth with two triples apiece.
 
Alexis Woods pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, with UAH accumulating 30 rebounds as a team.
 
Prior to Saturday's game, the UAH women's basketball program honored the careers of seniors Jesse Jennings, Haley Nichols and Alexis Woods.
 
UAH looks ahead to two road games next week at Auburn Montgomery on Thursday and Montevallo on Saturday.
